SWTOR Sentinel Leveling Builds – SWTOR Sentinel Leveling Guide
As a Sentinel, you have the luxury of being one of the fastest leveling classes in all of Star Wars The Old Republic. In order to maximize your leveling speed, you can use one of the SWTOR Sentinel leveling builds listed below.
We will be going over three different types of Star Wars The Old Republic Sentinel leveling builds: Watchman builds, Combat builds, and hybrid builds.
SWTOR Sentinel Leveling Guide – Watchman
Watchman is one of the talent trees unique to the Sentinel in Star Wars The Old Republic. There are pros and cons to using talent tree as the crux of your leveling build.
The major pro of this build is that some of the talents will actually heal your character. For example, one of the talents in this tree gives you a 2% heal every time one of your burn effects gets a critical hit. This may not seem like a lot of healing but these crit all the time, especially as your gear gets better.
The major con of Watchman is that a lot of its abilities focus on dealing damage over time. When you are fighting weak enemies, which is the bulk of the quest and leveling game, this slows you down. Your abilities may do damage over 15 seconds but the enemy you are fighting against may only live 6 seconds. This is a waste of time and damage.
This particular build does shine in dungeons though, particularly on bosses. If you are leveling up with a bunch of your friends and plan on doing a lot of low-level flashpoints, this talent tree may make for a good SWTOR Sentinel leveling build.
As you get higher in level, you will end up getting more healing out of these talents as well. I would suggest sticking to Combat, at least through the early levels. This may change once we get our hands on the game, but that is my initial impression.
SWTOR Sentinel Leveling Builds – Combat
I think that the best SWTOR Sentinel leveling builds, at least for players of early levels, will revolve around the Combat tree. The Combat tree allows you to deal damage upfront, which is perfect for leveling up.
When you are leveling up, a lot of your time is spent moving between enemies and from quest objective to quest objective. You spend little time battling each enemy because each enemy tends to be very weak.
As a result, putting a bunch of points in the combat tree is ideal for low-level players. Once you reach a higher level you may start to put points into Watchman or Focus, but initially the Combat tree will be your bread and butter.
Star Wars The Old Republic Sentinel Leveling Builds – Hybrids
Once you reach the mid-range levels, hybrid builds tend to shine. This is generally the part of the game where you are too low of a level to access the best talents in the game, but are in the perfect position to grab multiple good talents from different trees.
During these level ranges, it would behoove you to put talent points into both the Watchman and Combat tree. You can pick up the self-healing talents in Watchman while getting the damage from Combat, at least you could in theory.
SWTOR Sentinel Leveling Builds – Conclusion
Once we get to play the game, we will be able to test out these theories and construct some good SWTOR Sentinel leveling builds based on our experience. We will be adding these to this page over time, so be sure to check back for information.
