SWTOR Jedi Knight, Guardian, and Sentinel Builds

If you want to maximize the strength of your Jedi Knight, you will need to have a list of SWTOR Jedi Knight Builds that you can use in each situation. Different talents have different functions, and if you really want to be a good Jedi Knight you will need to have builds ready for every situation you may find yourself in.

For example, you will want separate builds for PvE (Flashpoints and Raids), PvP (Warzones), and Farming and Leveling Builds (farming and leveling generally tend to share the same build).

Not only that, but you will need Jedi Knight builds for both advanced classes in Star Wars The Old Republic. You will have access to both the Guardian and Sentinel classes and will need good builds for each one.

SWTOR Jedi Knight Builds – Leveling Builds

As a new Jedi Knight, you will want to have a good leveling build so you can level up as quickly as possible. Good leveling builds focus on two things: improving killing speed and reducing downtime.

Killing speed is simple – pick abilities which help you do more damage. Now, many scenarios require you to kill a lot of monsters at once and have you change targets often. For this reason, abilities which defeat enemies quickly and deal up-front damage are ideal.

However, you also have to consider reducing downtime. Moving from enemy to enemy can take awhile as a Jedi Knight, as can restoring your HP. Abilities like Force Leap help reduce leveling speed by letting you move between enemies quickly. Talents like Merciless Zeal (Watchman) help reduce downtime by allowing you to heal when you fight enemies.

As a Jedi Knight, you have the option of being a Guardian or a Sentinel. I recommend going Sentinel to start as it is better for leveling. You can always change to Guardian later (developers have stated that advanced classes will not be locked).

Regardless of what path you pick, we have put together some leveling builds for you here:

SWTOR Jedi Knight, Sentinel, and Guardian Builds – Farming

Note that your farming builds are just like leveling builds, except that you have all the talent points available to you. You should not spend much time farming before max level, as you would be better off leveling up crafts or just getting to max level as you will be able to earn money faster once you reach that point.

Good Jedi Knight builds for farming are just like leveling builds, except that you will likely not want to have to change your advanced class. You can spec into Vigilance as a Guardian and use a hybrid spec as a Sentinel. We have some specific SWTOR Guardian and Jedi Knight builds you can use below:

SWTOR Jedi Knight Builds – PvE

As a Jedi Knight, you have two options when it comes to PvE: tanking or dealing damage. You will want to have builds for each one. The only viable tank is the Defense tree of the Guardian, whereas in PvE you can have all sorts of builds to deal damage.

While the standard tree for PvE DPS is the Watchman tree of the Sentinel, the Sentinel’s combat tree works as well, at least in lower-level dungeons. You can even do DPS as a Guardian if you spec into Vigilance and Focus (the shared talent tree). However, given how limited tanks are, Guardian Jedi Knights will be expected to tank in most groups!

SWTOR Jedi Knight PvP Builds

PvP is likely to be a big part of SWTOR and players will definitely want to check out the PvP planet and all the warzones. However, if you really want to shine in PvP as a Jedi Knight, you will need some good PvP builds.

A solid PvP build has a lot of things going on with it and should consider the following factors: burst damage, mobility, control, and survivability.

You can learn more about these factors and each of our builds in our sections below:

Over time, we will be adding more viable builds to this section. Once the game hits release, our entire site will be finished and you will have access to the best builds for all situations you may find yourself in as a Jedi Knight.
